Meet Sarah
Welcome to Oh Darling Photography!
My name is Sarah and I am here to share my creative eye, documenting the most cherished moments for you and your family. After graduating from Hallmark Institute of Photography in 2007, I opened up a studio space where I discovered my passion for helping families create forever memories of their loved ones. My goal is to give you both beautiful portraits as well as sweet candid moments to hold time in place.
I would love to meet with you and talk about your photography needs, please send me a message or give me a call!
A few icebreakers before we meet:
I have a 7 year old pup Darla, who is both sweet and sassy, she is a Weimaraner and super active so we are always out seeking adventure. I also have a cat Rawk-r, who is a wrecking ball and always seems to be hungry.
I spend a ton of time out in the woods hiking with my dog - we find it peaceful and a great form of exercise for us.
I have an Early Childhood Education background and have worked in a classroom environment with infants, toddlers and preschoolers.
I have spent the last few years working part time on a local organic veggie farm learning farming practices, growing both vegetables and flowers - also as a co-teacher in an education program called farm+ forest for children ages 6-12
I love seeing live music - concerts of any kind really make me happy!
Coffee is best when made at home.
Thanks for stopping by!
Sarah
How did I become a photographer?
I have always been a “saver” of things - cards, photos, anything that holds a memory … I find value in looking at something and remembering what that day was like. It means the world to me to be able to hold onto fleeting moments in time that we may forget if it isn’t in front of us.
At first I wasn’t sure where I wanted to go with my photography - I loved live music - maybe an event photographer? Maybe work for a pretty design magazine? They sounded nice…but I love interacting with people - especially creative, strong willed and silly people like children. So thats what I decided I wanted to do.
I went to photography school where I learned the nitty gritty technical side and business side of the trade. A few years later I went back to school for Early Childhood Education and dug deeper into age appropriate development to learn what ways I could best interact with my tiny clients.
I love capturing big emotions, adorable curiosity and sweet candid moments between children and their families. It is really the best job - I want your experience to be fun and stress free, they are only little for so long! If you have any questions feel free to send me an email or give me a call.
